Palm Trees BEFORE, DURING and AFTER

Here are our Mexican Fan and Queen Palm trees BEFORE we had them trimmed:

DURING the trimming the professional tree trimmer wore a face mask to protect his mouth and nose from the dust and debris found in the dead, hanging palm fronds.

Even with the bucket truck, some trees were too tall to reach the top of.  So the trimmer put on shoe spikes and a harness and climbed the rest of the way up.  Seeing him so high up there made me dizzy!

Again a comparison:  The picture below is BEFORE trimming.

And the picture below is a few weeks AFTER trimming.  Without all the dead fronds you can actually see the trees.  And they are stunning!

Nothing says "Los Angeles" more than palm trees.  And I love ours.

  1. Hi, Thank you for sharing your pictures. I have a lot of palm trees in my yard and am looking for someone to trim it. Do you mind sharing me the cost of hiring tree service with the bucket truck? Thank you. Vince

    1. Hi Vince,
Thanks for reading and your comment. Where I live, palm tree trimming is not cheap. But everyone's yard and trees are different. The best way to get a price for trimming your particular palm trees is to ask 3-5 different professional tree trimmers for a quote. Then go with the quote you like the best. Good luck!

  2. I agree; the trees look better after you had them trimmed! It must've been hard to find a bucket truck that could reach that high. How tall were they? Tree trimming is one of those neglected but important tasks; dead branches that are left to fall to the ground could be dangerous if left unchecked, especially if they hit people passing by or get swept by the wind during storms.
